At The Fun Lab, we have been searching for specific standards to implement greater environmental sustainability and efficiency in outdoor spaces of both vacation resorts and sports complexes with public summer pools, but unfortunately, without success.
Particularly, in the case of tourist resorts, these facilities experience much higher usage during peak seasons and generate a significant impact -water resources, noise, and light pollution – in the municipalities where they are located, especially in well-established coastal vacation destinations.
Therefore, in collaboration with our partner Bioscore, a technological company with a digital platform for sustainability certification in the tourism sector, we are introducing the Blue Leaf Bioscore Certification. The primary objective of this certification is to serve as a framework, providing guidance through actions and indicators, for vacation resorts that are eager to embrace sustainability integration into their day-to-day strategies and operations.

This is a very important initiative in which we are working by stages, whose ultimate goal is – once completed all phases-, to draw key metrics and conclusions to support the validation of the project.
Similarly, we are open to replicate this pilot project at new resorts located in other coastal tourist destinations, for the purpose of having new data sources and performing comparative analysis.
