Furthermore, we are an independent inspection entity accredited according to ISO/IEC 17020, authorized for the international inspection and certification of the safety of water slides (EN-1069:2017 / ASTM F-2376), as well as recreational pools and splash areas with water play equipment (EN-17232:2021 / ASTM F2461-09).

Our team
We are a team of professionals with specific knowledge and experience in the sectors in which we work. Additionally, we have several collaborators, both nationally and internationally, that enable us to offer services perfectly tailored to the needs of each project and client.
The members of The Fun Lab are part of different technical working teams responsible for reviewing, updating, and modernizing the safety standards in water parks.
Specifically, we are members of the Technical Body CTN 147/SC 2/GT 1, belonging to the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE); the group CEN/TC 136/WG 3 of the European Committee for Standardization; and the Technical Committee F24 of ASTM (Amusement and Rides). Likewise, we actively participate in the Water Park Safety Committee of ASOFAP (Spanish Association of Professionals in the Pool Sector).

Santiago García Gimeno
Technical Director – Engineering area
Graduated in Engineering specialized in hydraulic installations. With a background in Project Management Professional (PMP), his professional career has been connected to both national and international projects leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. He is responsible for the technical management of the aquatic leisure inspections.
Javier Salvador Marín
Managing Director – Consulting area
With a background in the fields of Business, Marketing and Communications, his professional career has been focused on business strategic planning and account management, at both the national and international levels. He is also a PhD student in Tourism Management at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Santiago García Gimeno
Technical Director – Engineering area
